Why do people eat fungus (mushrooms)?

I used to until I seen on TV how they grow them,in manure,like s**t!!!WTK nasty!!!!!!!Why do people eat fungus (mushrooms)?
They taste good. They take on flavor very well, they are very healthy (low calories), and they have excellent texture.Why do people eat fungus (mushrooms)?
because they are yummy

they are good....and not all mushrooms are grown in manure. shitaki, for instance are grown on logs
nothing makes a meal complete like a good batch of fungi!!!
