Five hours is not enough time to expect to see results. Follow the instructions that came with the medication strictly. It took a while for the fungus to develop (probably ringworm). It will take a few days to see some improvement.

In the meantime, to help keep you busy and not focused on your cat's misery, vacuum your carpets (ringworm is spread by spores that shed). It wouldn't be a bad idea to use a spray disinfectant, like Lysol, on your carpets, furniture, etc., where the cat might lay. Use a disinfectant cleaner to wash up your tile floors (Lysol is good). Give your baby a special treat and some kind words, so you knows that she has your sympathy.

You will see improvement, but it may take a day or two to ease up for her and a couple of weeks to get rid of the fungus. No need to shave the cat, unless the vet says. Shaving just makes it easier for your cat to tear open its skin when scratching....with no fur barrier to help protect the skin from abrasion.

Good luck, and I hope your kitty feels better really soon.My cat got some skin problems .. i took it to 2 different vets one of them said its fungus?
It probably is a fungal infection. Its a great idea to cut some of the fur away, but you dont want him scratching it so much. The shot was probably a benedryl shot, which should reduce some itchyness. Pinkness is a sign of healing, but if the skin is swollen it could be a sign of infection. Call your vet when you can if it gets worse. He should heal over time, just make sure he doesnt make himself bleed.
Dont know of any online vets but the vet thta said it was a fungus is probaly right. Her skin is irritated from all of the chemicles on it.
